Code of Conduct


Highland Wildlife and Birdwatch Safaris are pleased to adhere to the "Scottish Outdoor Access Code", to the RSPB recommended code of conduct to promote safe and responsible behaviour and "Wild Scotland" guidelines in order to minimize the impact on the wildlife and the environment.

Please ensure that you follow your guides instructions while watching wildlife as some of the wildlife and habitats are very sensitive to disturbance.

Code of Practice for Visitor Attractions


The Owners and management have undertaken:

To display this Code of Practice to comply with the following provisions of the code
To describe accurately to all visitors the amenities, facilities and services provided in any advertisement, brochure or any other printed means, and to indicate any significant restrictions on entry.
To display clearly at public entry points any charges for entry (including service charges and taxes where applicable) and whether there are any additional charges for individual attractions and hours of operation (opening and closing).
To manage and where appropriate staff the attraction in such a way as to maintain a high standard of customer care, cleanliness, courtesy, maintenance to ensure visitors safety, comfort and service. All staff who meet visitors should be recognizable as employees.
Where appropriate to the nature, scale and location of the attraction to provide adequate toilet facilities, coach and car parking and catering arrangements.
To give due consideration to access and other provisions to people with special needs and to make suitable provisions where practicable.
To deal promptly and courteously to all enquiries, requests, reservations, correspondence and complaints from visitors.
To provide public liability insurance whilst in the vehicle, or comparable arrangement and to comply with all applicable planning, safety and other statutory arrangements.
It is expected that all relevant legislation will be adhered to and that activity operators will be registered under the Adventure Activities Licensing Regulations where approppriate. It is also envisaged that where appropriate, membership of non-statutory Adventure Activities Schemes will be undertaken.

Wildlife Experience. The Owners and management have undertaken:

To adhere to a relevant environmental Code of Conduct and display this clearly for Visitors reference. This information could be referenced in promotional literature.
To adhere to the Scottish Outdoor Access Code.
Membership of Wild Scotland and participation in the Visit Scotland Green Tourism Business scheme are encouraged.

Cancellation policy


If WE cancel your safari for any reason and a deposit has been paid we will refund it in full.
If YOU cancel your safari, or cancellation is caused by circumstances beyond both our control and a deposit has been paid, any refund or partial refund will be at our discretion after we have considered the circumstance.
Deposits are not usually required, as payment by cash on the day is preferred. However , on booking,  a deposit (payable by bank transfer) may be asked for at our discretion i.e large party/exclusive  bookings.
